Do any NorVise tiers have a thread preference for "spinning" dubbing for nymphs? Do you find one type/brand of thread that does a better job at grabbing the dubbing while you spin the vise?
Thanks.

AnW, the regular Uni thread works for me. sometimes it helps to apply a tiny amount of dubbing wax if the dubbing is coarse. put no more than the merest smear on your fingers and slide that down the thread.
fly fishing and baseball share a totally deceptive simplicity; that's why they can both be lifelong pursuits.
I, too, use the regular Uni thread and don't use any wax.
X 1 just any thread, though I have lots of different types, and some do hold the dubbing better then others..
As in the Army, I have never had a bad day Fly fishing, some damn uncomfortable days but never a bad one!
Everyone must believe in something and I believe in Fly Fishing and Fly Tying and believe I will

Thanks guys. I just ran out of black and am headed to the shop to stock up on a few things. I can't remember what I had on before, but it didn't seem to work as well as some of the other colors I have spooled up. Unfortunately I threw out the spools and can't for the life of me remember what I have been using. I'll give the Uni a go.
I have used Uni, Danville, Gudebrod, and UTC. All work fine at catching and spinning the dubbing on.
