I want to have one rod that is truly "top shelf" before I either die or get too feeble to get on the small to medium Rocky Mt. trout streams I love.

The Redington 7 ft. 3 wt. I own is O.K. for casting 30 feet or less with a #14 dry fly, when there is not strong wind. My 9 ft. 5 wt. St. Croix Legend Ultra seems too heavy for small trout. So, I'm thinking a 4 wt.

For those of you have enjoyed the delight of owning and fishing the best rods, what is your recommendation.
