Well, ... the news is out!
The 2010 edition of the Quebec Atlantic salmon mentorship is 4,5 & 6 Sept. IN GASPE Quebec!
The instructors and Guides will be showing new comers around the Pabos, la Grande-Rivere, la riviere St-Jean, la riviere York and la riviere Dartmouth
The info seems to only be in French so here's the skinny:
2 classes: Mentorship and Discovery.
For the Mentorship, you must have a MAXIMUM of 3 salmon season or 10 days under your belt. The Discovery class is for anyone new to the rivers.
Cost is 375 Cnd$:
- meals 3 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 suppers, including the Sunday banquet (last year we had +2500$ in door prizes);
- Lodging for 3 nights (3, 4 and 5 sept)
- 2 days of guided fishing, including guide fees and rod fees.
Lodging this year is at:l?Auberge Fort-Prevel
The objective of the activity is to teach newcomers about salmon fishing or to discover a new river or region.
It is NOT a hard core, fish 'till you drop, fill your freezer with fillets fishing expedition.
I did a blurb last year:
Part Three - The Quebec 2009 Mentorship
If this interests you, drop me a line and I can fill you in on the details.
Edit:
Oh, ... just a note in case any one thinks this would be a posting to troll for clients, ... the Instructors and Guides donate their time and expenses to participate in the activity. The hotel complex cut its rates and the River Associations are practically giving away the daily rod fees.
