Amazon lists flies

So I was goofing around, throwing various tying-related search terms at Google and seeing what I could find, when I stumbled across a fly listed on Amazon.com. I was surprised by this and ended up going to that site and putting in the names of various flies I've seen in my books and so far, I haven't been able to stump them yet. Every fly I searched for is being offered for sale. Obviously it's not Amazon doing the selling, but dealer "partners".

That's the first surprising thing. The next surprising thing is that almost every one of these flies has a high-quality photo attached. In fact, the photos I've seen beat out many that I've seen on other sites.

I thought I'd pass this along both out of what strikes me as the pure "oddness" of it (I still think of them as mainly a book store with a side business of gadgets), and also because if you hear the name of a fly and have no idea what it is (or want another, perhaps different photo), it might well be a good resource.

Anyway, hope it helps someone or is at least amusing to you.

I've used these too. All are excellent and different resources.

try googling a fly with FAOL. most of them come up with a pattern. Easy way to search the archives. Another way is to go to the fly of the week archives and use Edit--Find and type the name.
