Default Bamboo rods that are no longer fishable...

I would like to get my hands on some bamboo rods or pieces of the same that are broken, delaminated, or otherwise not usable or repairable. I will, of course, pay postage to get them here and can even send a tube to stuff the pieces parts in.

I have an idea that I just can't shake.

Would you be interested in one of the really cheap old Japanese rods? Comes with a wooden case!

Absolutely. As long as it's hex shaped. I want non-fishable because it is not going to remain a fishing rod.

Sounds cool, I saw a post on another board of a guy that made a tippet spool holder by drilling holes in both ends and putting a key ring in them. I made several out of the unusables that I I had thus I have no more. Post pics when you get them done.

Well, I managed to thoroughly tick off a junk dealer that thinks he has bamboo gold in 2 rods and a stripped tip section. No guides at all on one rod, when you pulled to separate the sections the lower ferrule separated from the blank. The other rod was repairable but had loose wraps and ferrules. Both old Japanese rods. No breaks in either rod, though. The tip section had nothing on it other than a few bits of thread, not even the male end of the ferrule.

When I offered him $10 for the lot, he threw me out of the store.
