    Is it just me or does anyone else see this site turning into a Facebook with the 'polls' and 'friends' etc.

    I don't feel that way. I don't have or seek any "friends" Those who are, are known, those who aren't, are welcome to become so. Polls are a good way to share the shack nasties, and can be really telling.

    The Poles and Friends options have been avalable for a while and are not used much. I can't see FAOL becoming facebook, or anything resembeling facebook.

    What polls?
    I see few.
    I don't come here to "make friends". That may be obvious. I come here to read and find out about fly fishing.
    I have only met one person from this site and that was by complete accident.
    I don't use this site as a "Facebook" and never will.
    Got all the friends I need.............................and some I don't
    Good fishing technique trumps all.....wish I had it.

    Nope, that is someone looking for info. A poll just gives statistics. I can't tell you how much I have learned, and am still learning from this site. Still haven't met any of you face to face

    poll (pl) n. A survey of the public or of a sample of public opinion to acquire information.

    Strictly speaking it appears that if you ask more than one person the same question you are conducting a poll. This makes children the most active pollster in the world. So if I ask you want you would use in a situation and you answer wooly bugger and one of the other guys said he would use a Mickey Finn, am I conducting a poll or find a bait that I have or like to use that might work?
