    Default Synthetic wings

I found an easy way to handle synthetics like EP fibers or Congo Hair (my favorite) for winging spinners and parachutes. I pull a bunch of fibers off the hank in the thickness I want for the wing (I only use half the amount if I'm going to post them for parachutes since I tie down and double up), even one end with scissors and then singe it with a lighter. This fuses the end and leaves you with a hank that's always the right thickness, the fibers stay together and are easy to manage (if you've ever used this stuff you know how it tangles). For a #16 spinner, this is enough for about 15-20 flies.

    Regards,
    Scott
