Default BLEACHING ANIMAL FUR - January 25, 2010

    BLEACHING ANIMAL FUR

There aren?t many of us old tiers around anymore. I?m not talking about our age, but rather those of us who tie and fish with the old patterns. Synthetic tying materials are becoming more and more common each day. The suppliers of natural materials are slowly reducing their inventories because of less demand and less availability.

Tom mentioned removing the underfur before bleaching. Does that mean the underfur to be used as dubbing should be bleached separately instead of bleaching the hide/fur and then combing out the underfur for dubbing?

By all means --- leave in the underfur if you plan on using it for dubbing.
