ALBRIGHT contacted us to make sure we know they are NOT going out of business, business the just dandy - but they are having a BIG CLOSEOUT SALE to get rid of last year's stuff so they have room for the new. BIG sale on flies too. Check it out! http://www.albrightflyfish.com/

I was browsing the site and came across something I've never quite seen before: a 7'6" 14wt.

Now where I fish, anyone using anything heavier than an 8wt has too much rod. There's simply nothing in PA waters that requires more than that. Now I could see a 14wt maybe being necessary in saltwater...but such a short one? I'm not doubting them, just curious as to its application (much like Global Dorber's 10' 1, 2, 3, and 4wts)

Great people to work with. I had a special situation and they accommodated my request with no problem.

That A-5 rod is very nice. Bought a 9' 4wt and a reel.

    Cold:

Have you never seen, or pictures of, one of the deep sea trolling rods, complete with roller (ball-bearing) guides? These are the ones that have a gimble on the butt to fit into the fighting chair and the fisher is "belted" to the reel. They are extremely short rods, with the portion that bears the reel and guides rarely exceeding about 5 feet. The rod you describe is surely designed for off-shore blue water fishing.

Went to order an item marked down to $59.99.

$21.00 shipping on a $57.00 item that doesn't weigh much nor is bulky?

As good as Albright is and as nice as they are.............I don't think so.

As I've mentioned before in a different thread, depending on...the $21 isn't really a deterrent for me.
I recently bought two Bugati reels for slightly less than $100, including the notorious shipping charge , and still feel I got a good deal.

Cold...Have you never had the need for a small creek marlin rod?

wish they would do something about the shipping. It may not be important to some, but it is still outrageous.
