    They look super. Could you give a little more detail on how you tied them. I don't understand the mono wrapped with mono. Thanks in advance.

    Thanks Kelkay . Arent you From Texas ? are you going to be at the Houston fly fest ?

    Thanks Thorarinna and red diamond

    cucuy and Steven , I used a #10 dry fly hook and bent it like a scud hook. The head is made of two pieces of 40 lb mono melted on one end. I then tie it both pieces to the hook the length I want the body. I then add a piece of 4o lb mono to each side , as long as the first two .Continue covering the mono with the mono thread . Then add one piece of 40lb mono under the hook . This last piece of mono shuld be tied in at the tail end and should stop where the legs should start. I often add some dark brown or black to the tip of this one. Once this is done tie in three pieces of 4 or 6 lb mono underneath for legs. Heat kink the legs and trim to size. Add a little color for head and legs , then coat entire fly with flexament or any other head cement.

    Just so I'm clear, you're:
    1) using mono thread;
    2) tying 2 pieces of 40# mono on top of the hook;
    3) tying 2 more pieces of 40# mono - one on each side of the hook.
    4) tying a 5th piece of 40# mono under the hook, from the end of the abdomen up to the thorax.
    5) tying in thin mono underneath for legs.

    Have I got this?

    Those flies really are nice.

    That's basicly it. I do an ant , termite and spider with the same techniques.
    They look realistic and are very durable.

    I wholeheartedly agree!

    This needs to be a FOTW with step-by-step photos and instructions.

    Disgusting! Deliciously Disgusting! (For fish that is)
