Something like that would probably work pretty well as long as the picture quality is really good for tight up-close shots that would be required for instructional fly tying.

At this point I'd buy or borrow, lol. Are you looking to sell, or lend?

I am not certain but I don't think this one is High Definition though the video quality is quite good for a unit this size. I would be willing to loan it to you for you to try out. If you like it and want to buy it we could talk. If you don't like it you could ship it back.

You can use this as a still camera but it isn't that great as it is only 1 mega pixel in the still camera mode. I have a circular polarizing filter for it but it can cause a dark halo around the image on wide angle shots. Works good if you are zooming in a little bit like on a fish in the water. You can see the shadow on the display or through the viewer and adjust for it. The filter is not necessary for shooting and just screws on or off of the lens. Just a nice accessory to have in bright sunlight.

The reason I would be willing to part with it is that I prefer shooting with my DSLR. Also for the small amount of videography I do a point and shoot with HD video would suffice. I am looking to pick up a Pentax Optio W80 eventually. I just do not use this camera very much.
