Thanks for posting this. I was working for the Post when Charlie returned as a combo ski and outdoors writer. He was, in fact, the person who first took me ice fishing, and started me out right with spring bobbers and the use of tiny flies. He was a class act back then, and remained one throughout this life. A friend, a colleague and a true outdoorsman. JGW
To all those who knew him. I knew him by reputation, not personally.
He was a credit to his field, rare in today's world. Remember the good stuff folks.
A sad day for those who love hunting/fishing, the outdoors, good writing and arguing Colorado politics. Charlie was a good man, a great writer, and maybe the most infamous "hot spotter" of all time. My daily ventures to the Denver Post website will never be the same.
