    Default Back to the traditional

This little rod is a sweet casting 8' 2pc 5w built on a Tiger Eye blank. The grip has a rattan wrap. Feather inlay on the grip. The wraps are metallic black with a single turn gold accent. Stainless hardware finishes it off.

Very nice. That feather inlay on the grip is very cool!

That's a beauty all right. What kind of finish is on the handle-varnish?

No, it's Flex-Coat and it is not slippery at all.

Beautiful stick. I don't know how you get such a nice finish on your wraps. The only way I can get a finish like that is to buy it.
That rod is fun to look at. Aren't those Tiger Eye blanks somethin' else?
Where you go is less important than how you take the steps.

Thank you. I really like the way this one came out. They are sweet blanks, no doubt about it.

I don't do anything special on the wraps. I start with a coat of high build Flex-Coat and if there are any little nibs that need sliced off, I take the razor blade to them and go over the wraps with a coat of FC-Lite. Those rattan wraps always need some cleanup after the first coat of finish.

Nice blend of art and craft for a great looking stick.
