You don't need to have a long rod with a short line and tippet to Czech nymph. I use my regular 9ft rod with a full fly line and 50 yards of backing on it. You just pretend its rigged for Czech fishing. Works perfectly fine , can be used in small streams easily or larger waters. In fact I prefer to have a lighter tippet and the reel full of line in case a monster hits it and you need to either let it run or lose it. With a solidly tied "proper Czech nymph rig" without backing you quickly run out of options when the granddaddy of all fish decides to run.
