Yeah, I get that a lot as a fly fishing instructor, too. Maybe I should quit answering them for free, teaching for free, and actually enjoying it. Perhaps I should start getting annoyed by helping my friends, family, and neighbors who cannot afford to pay my rates but who recognize my expertise and seek out my advise.

You have an excellent point that I all too often overlook. I might whine about it, but I still do it and I still enjoy it. Even when the Son-in-Law's "quick question" shoots the heck out of the evening and takes way more time than it should because he keeps arguing with me about what to do after asking.
