Got a Redington Predator
7'11", 4-piece in a 6wt.
Great looking rod...if that means anything. I coupled it with an Albright Topwater reel with sinking line for now.
Will give a full reviews if and when it is used.
I did cast it across our pool and it felt about perfect. So far so good.

I've got one and really like it. I think you will too. The shorter length sure makes throwing big flies all days easier on the arm! Nice, responsive and accurate. I actually picked this rod over the sage smallmouth rod. Then again, I put a line and reel on it and still came out $100 ahead. Gotta like that! A lot of rod for the money
Redington makes some great rods.
I had an RS4 and loved it.

First test:
Pool and back yard casting with sinking line(150 grain I think).
It feels about perfect from butt to tip. Feels like a linear flow from butt to tip. It feels like the same tension throughout the whole rod. I've used some "bass rods" that had plenty of butt but a whippy tip. You can't cast heavy flies well with that set up.
Tip does not feel too stiff.
40 feet flies out with no problem.
So far so good. More to come................

Looks like it would be fun to use on small snook amongst the mangroves, although I'd probably step up to the 8wt.

I got one also , used it in the salt flats last winter. Rod casts just as well as my Winston B2X without the sticker shock. I use the Rio 7wt redfish line on it and its really good. Shorter length work well in a kayak more so than a longer rod. I had one issue with it though, over the summer it broke in the middle, still havent figured out why but sent it back was replaced rather quickly.
