    Default KG's IMPROVED SHOP-VAC - Fly of the Week - December 28, 2009

    KG's IMPROVED SHOP-VAC

This is my version of the Shop-Vac fly developed by Craig Matthews of Blue Ribbon Flies in West Yellowstone, MT. I always liked the fly, but I like to fiddle with things and this is the result of my experimentation.

    Default Good Idea

Good idea with changing the rib color. I think you did a nice job, too.

Thank you! I've got more in the works.

    Kelly,

Very nice fly. Hope to see you do a step-by-step of one of those parasol flies you sent me last summer.

    Regards,
    Scott

Thanks, everyone for the great feedback. Scott, I'm working on that submission as we speak. Looking forward to sharing that particular fly.

Me, too, I tied one of the parasols the other day and couldn't find a material that would puff like yours.

    Default parasol flies

Kelly, I too anxiously await your parasol fly. I've done some, and to be honest, just haven't had much luck with them. So I need to figure out what I'm doing wrong! (grin) Nice job on the Shop-Vac fly, looks like it would work well on the streams I fish. I'll give it a try this year.
