    Default Blank-5wt - 5 piece

    Hello All,
I am looking for a five weight blank approximately nine ft in a five piece configuration. My hope is to find one on the faster side.
    Thanks

Check out Hook & Hackle (one of our sponsors). They are having a sale on RX7+ blanks and have a five-piece listed. These are fast blanks and you can't go wrong with one of them. The sale price is also very helpful in making the decision. I just checked, it appears they have sold out of the 5wt, but still have 6wts. http://shop4.mailordercentral.com/ho...number=RX79065
    Hope this helps.

    Thanks to both of you
I worry about the 6 wt blank. In the past I have found that some 5 pc blanks end up needing a 1/2 to 1 wt up line. Do either of you have any expereince or knowledge of either of these? If so your imput would be greatly appreciated.

I don't. I have been looking for a 7'6" 2 wt and while I was looking I found that 5 wt which might work for you.

hardhat, In your initial post you state a preference for a faster rod in a 5 pc. Later you express concern that 5 pc. rods need to be uplined by .5 to 1 line wt. to cast the way you like. Why then seek out a faster rod? A more medium fast rod in a 5 pc. will not need to be uplined. A Winston LT5 casts a true 5 wt. line very well. I think MRFC has the blanks on sale. For a more inexpensive rod, the Redington Wayfarer 5 pc. casts well and is not too fast.
