I was planning to tie some Clouser swimming nymphs but I wanted to make sure first, is the hen saddle the same we use for woolly buggers?
Thanks

I believe I can fly fish
Most people use rooster saddles for wolly buggers, but for small buggers a hen saddles makes a nice soft body hackle.

So I can use it for Clouser Swimming nymph, right?

great, thanks a lot. I'll tie some today.

You can use whatever you want, they are your flies. There are no Fly Police that are going to tell you you're wrong. Without substitution of 'similar' material we wouldn't tie half the flies we do, it's just that some materials have properties that suit a particular purpose better than others.
That's exactly what I meant to find out when I asked if I could use hen hackle, if its properties would suit the fly I'm going to try, I'm perfectly clear on the no FLY Police checking my tying habits.
It might sound like a dumb question for some but it was something I was not sure about.
Thanks

I use hen hackle for my swimming nymphs. I'm partial to soft hackle flies.
