Thank goodness for buses and the Metro!!
well, Betty, they shut the "above ground" Metro (half the system) at 1:00 pm yesterday, and shut down the buses as well. the snow is too deep for the "third rail" (which was originally built with NO protection from the elements at all) and the roads too bad for the buses. the Feds had been expected to work as usual--those that work on Saturday--and Congress is meeting every day, so who knows how anyone got home?

as of now, 25 (of 125) bus routes are running half service, and the above ground Metro is still closed. and tomorrow?

yep, there's a reason we all strip the markets bare in a massive panic before even one flake falls!
fly fishing and baseball share a totally deceptive simplicity; that's why they can both be lifelong pursuits.

Normand, now I see how you can have the time to sort out your flies so nicely.

We finally had some snow last weekend....26.3" here on Long Island, NY. Supposedly set a record. I know for some of you here, that isn't a lot, but over here...that's crippling. Glad it came on the weekend.

We are forecasted to get a big dump of snow (stating last night). So far this morning we haven't seen anything here, although I hear that they're getting some down in Duluth. Watch out everybody to the East of here, it's likely headed your way ! Have a Merry Christmas, just the same.

    Default snow

After reading the posts above, and having only seen snow twice in 58 yrs, I'm glad I live here in Florida. Would not know how to drive in that stuff, and would be in trouble as soon as I left the driveway.
    But it sure looks pretty!
    Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!
