Hope this is the right forum. I have a technical question about the forward cast using a haul. I remember seeing some video footage some years ago of Lefty Kreh and Mel Krieger while they were explaining the double haul and as they released the line their rods were held high--maybe shoulder high as I recall and were pointed slightly up--about a 9:30 position. Is this final position the end of their power strokes or did they finish the power stroke earlier--say 11 o'clock--and then move the rod very quickly to the final position to facilitate line shoot. It's been a while and the memeory is fading but it seemed like they went straight to the final position. If this is so I am wondering how they were able to stop abruptly so the rod could unload.
