Default a tip for new tyers

Your technique will suffer greatly if your 50# German shorthair pointer insists on climbing into your lap while tying. Take her for a walk even if it is cold out and then start over.

its can also be said the same when your 15 pound wheenie dog or 12 pound cat decide to do the same thing.

What about your 5 year old son? But that is getting rare these days, so my tying will just have to suffer.

O.K. a real one. If you don't have the right color of chenille or want an extra fuzzy one you can chop up some marabou and put it in a dubbing loop to make your own. For a thicker chenille make the loop longer and double it over before twisting the two halves together.

Never leave a 90% completed Salmon fly in the vise and walk away for 5 minutes. The reason is I have a fly munching cat that waits until the wings are on. Secondly must play with the dog first before sitting down to tye or she will bother you with toys and balls while tying.
