    Default More Cayman Bonefish Flies

Just about done tying for my trip to Grand Cayman. Just have to tie a few more bonefish flies and some baby tarpon flies.

Here are a few of my latest creations:

    Gibby's Bonefish Fly

    Gibby's Mantis Shrimp

    Gibby's Bonefish Bug

    Gibby's First Cast Bonefish Crab

I don't know anything about bonefishing in Cayman, the flies are nice it, but seems to me they are pretty heavily weighted. How deep is the water you fish there?

Water was 8 inches to 18 inches in most spots. That's why I used mini-eyes. Perhaps the macro photography threw you off?

Well, it is just that I fish the flats of Ascension bay in similar water depths and we always use bead chain instead of lead dumb bells. They make less of a "kerplunk" when they hit the water. Sure they take a little longer to hit bottom but it doesn't take long in 18" of water anyway. So I was just wondering.

I'm with you on this Ron.
IMHO--the flys will catch fish, but look too heavily weighted for the depths you listed in your post.

Guess I didn't catch the bonefish of which I posted pics here. I must have imagined it. My mistake.
