Thanks, Nam. My one goal this winter was to finish a "memorial" cedarstrip canoe a friend had started. He had a massive heart attack before he finished the boat, and this was my promise to his widow. I finished it on New Years Day. MY original intent was to do a gurgler worm, which I've tied before in Gartside swaps. Since this board is so heavily trout influenced I changed my mind and tied something that might fit both we warmwater and trout fanatics. Besides, I hadn't tied the Secret Wooly Bugger, and the "secret" is apparently Gartsides GSS (Gartside Secret Stuff) which is a concoction of fibers he dubbed onto the hook shank. My goal was to in some way come up with a ripoff of the GSS. I doubt if I have enough sparkle in there to make it as flashy as Jack's, but this will catch fish. Plus it's fun playing "mad scientist" once in a while. Writers don't have that opportunity too often. Again, appreciate being accepted into the swap. JGW
