I had hoped to give a fishing report on my drift on the Yakima River near Ellensburg, WA this evening. But, alas, Mother Nature turned against me.

I was all set with my cold weather gear and was ready to head over when Tim from the Worley Bugger Fly Co. called me on my cell phone yesterday afternoon. Steve Worley had asked him to call me and suggest that we postpone the drift. The temperatures were just plain too extreme for fly fishing on the river. The Monday morning temperature was going to be 4 degrees Fahrenheit and they were worried that fishing just was not going to be up to par.

One thing I learned long ago is you never argue with the experts, in this case the guides. So I cancelled the trip and reset it for a date late in the next week. The long term forecast is for cloudy (great hatching weather) and somewhat warmer with the temps at or just below freezing.

I will get a fishing report posted.
