    Default SMOKE SALMON SPREAD - What's cooking - November 30, 2009

    SMOKE SALMON SPREAD

There?s nothing like a relaxing few days at the cabin on the river. A fire in the fireplace, a good Manhattan and the company of a few good fishing buddies. On our outings one of the gourmet treats we always share is this, our favorite cracker spread. I hope you enjoy?

    Default Parnelli's Smoked Salmon Spread

Living in Minnesota, I do not get a chance to go fishing for salmon.

Here is my homemade verision of Smoke Salmon Spread....it is Super Duper when your "Putin on a the Ritz"!

I can of Sockeye Salmon,(remove skin and bones from the salmon pieces)
    Green Onion Tops, sliced.
    Mayonaise (to taste)
Liquid Smoke (couple of splashes, again to taste)

Ritz Crackers for spread on the Smoke Salmon Spread. I always use Ritz Crackers, remembering Fred Astaire dancing and singing to Irving Berlin's wonder song.... "PUTTIN ON THE RITZ"!

Have you seen the well-to-do up and down Park Avenue
On that famous thoroughfare with their noses in the air
High hats and Arrow collars, white spats and lots of dollars
Spending every dime for a wonderful time

If you're blue and you don't know where to go to
Why don't you go where fashion sits
    Puttin' on the Ritz

Diff'rent types who wear a day coat, pants with stripes
    And cutaway coat, perfect fits
    Puttin' on the Ritz

Dressed up like a million dollar trouper
Trying hard to look like Gary Cooper
    Super duper

Come let's mix where Rockefellers walk with sticks
    Or "um-ber-ellas" in their mitts
    Puttin' on the Ritz

Strolling down the avenue so happy
All dressed up just like an English chappie
    Very snappy

You'll declare it's simply "top-thing" to be there
And hear them swapping smart tidbits
    Puttin' on the Ritz

If you want, go to You Tube and see Fred Astaire, or Gene Wilders verison of, "Puttin on the Ritz"

    FRED ASTARIE

    GENE WILDER

    Tom Deschaine's Smoke Salmon Spread
That is the URL at the start of this thread..
Also if you go to any new what's cooking and follow the breadcrumbs back a directory you will see all articles contain a link to the OLD archive pages as well as a link to the BB that shows just the conversation threads (and links) to those articles (like all the newer what's cooking).

    Or did I miss something??
