    Default JESSE'S ROD - Readers Cast (angler dave) - November 30, 2009

    JESSE'S ROD

September is an in between month. Summer tends to hang on a bit and fall begins to let you know it is not far away. And when you are 24 and single and your ride is a Harley Davidson Fat Boy, life seems pretty good. Or at least that?s what Jesse Maulder thought. No one, not even Jesse could have known that as he left his home in Granger Iowa on that morning in September 2006, would be the start of some tough and anxious days ahead for not only Jesse but for his mom Vickie and the rest of the family.

Way to go Dave. What you guys have done isn't paying forward or back. It's just doing the right thing. And I love stories like this one. I too have taken up casting from the sitting position.
    Blessings on you all!

That is AWESOME! Way to go Dave, FAOL, and CIFF!!

I hope Jesse gets to experience the joy of hooking, fighting, and landing a fish on his new excellent gear...SOON!

It was about that time...a few years ago, that my wife happened by an accident involving a motorcyclist. She first bought herself a motorcycle when she was 17, and has ridden them now for...28 years. What she saw when she drove by that accident made her immediately go out and buy a helmet, and she's worn it ever since when riding her motorcycle.

This is a GREAT story! All involved should be very proud- and I'm sure you were humbled- by the experience. It sems that Jesse and his Mom should be proudest, for his progress and determination.
    Thank you for the story.
