You can get (you probably already have) clear mono 'sewing thread' at a fabric shop or Wally World. If you use that, the tie down point at the rear of the mylar will still show gold..and at the head it will allow the colors of the materials to show through, giving you that dark top/light underside without resorting to markers...speed things up and it looks really nice.

Did you weight the body?

good idear on the clear monno... i have it from the sewing department of wallyworld but use it as ribbing on some flies... havnt thought of using it for actually tying a fly...
