    Default Pine Island Sound

Hit the water before daylight. Slight northerly breeze. Tide was predicted to be negative .32, good for tailing reds. The tide did what it was supposed to do, but the redfish didn't. I did see about a dozen tailers, but only got to cast to to few. Hooked one briefly.
Caught a trout on my first cast with my new First Cast Crab. Kinda neat to come up with a different pattern and catch a fish on it. Also caught several trout, snook and mangrove snapper on the crab. Caught snook on olive Clouser, too.
Found redfish in the afternoon way back in the boondocks. Managed to sight-fish one. The red took a Super Hair Clouser.
Ended up with a Slam on fly. Not bad in my book.
Weather is great. Fishing is good.

I consider Pine Island Sound one of the best and most visually pleasing fishing areas on the west coast. I lived near there for several years and have fond memories. Your experience and pictures bring back some of those great memories. Thanks Steve.
