Default THE FLIES OF ROXY ROACH - Just Old Flies - November 9, 2009

    THE FLIES OF ROXY ROACH

Tom Deschaine brings us 2 flies from Pennsylvania's own Wilbur "Roxey" Roach (1882-1947).

I really like the look of these and will most likely be adding some to my collection of streamers. What is the white feather for the cheeks?

    Default Cheeks

I'm sorry, I inexplicably left the "shoulders" off the recipe for each fly. They are "Each a white duck breast feather, about on-third as long as the wing". I used wood duck breast feathers on the flies shown.
