It seems that it was just a little while ago but the mirror that lies to me tells me otherwise.
I was a soldier in the U.S.Army when it was'nt popular to be a soldier.
Still in all I was glad to be a soldier. Had always wanted to be one.
My time in the service was too short . Seven years all told . There are times that heart and mind go back to those times. I imagine that all of the guys that were there are all a bit on the grey (or balding ) side and hopefully more mature by now.I dont know since none of us kept in touch. Darn but those were the days that shall be treasured like the rare gems that they are . Perhaps that sounds hoaky and a bit drawn out but those of us that were "in" know what I mean. There were times when I would tell my pals " Live it up guys , cause like the old folkes keep saying, These are the days of our lives." I was right and so were the old folkes. Those were the days of our lives.
Thanks for starting this thread .
