I worked in the electronics industry all my adult life. TI, Datapoint, Motorola.

I used to walk by Jack Kilby's office on my way to work.

Now I build cabinet doors and I'm quickly loosing touch with the industry.

We are fairly up to date with gadgetry, but are ready for some updates/upgrades. My cell phone is an 8525 running WM6. Katy has an Iphone. Both have unlimited data plans. I have a bluetooth headphone driver and Katy has a Jawbone.

Our little TV in the den is a 52 inch HD plasma. In the theater we have a 1080p LCD projector and a 134 inch screen. The plasma has simulated surround sound that sucks. We usually use an ancient stereo receiver and a pair of tower speakers with it. The theater has 7.1 in-wall driven by a 100w per channel receiver plus stand alone powered sub-woofer. Both have HD cable receivers, the one in the theater is a DVR. The theater also has a good quality DVD player.

We have voip via cable modem and a 4 receiver wireless telephone system.

We both have laptops. We have an OLD desktop in the basement for visitors who forget their laptop. We dedicate a third, much older laptop as file and printer server on our wireless network.
