I can't say I have ever heard of them Dean. Is sherwood the name of the company that makes them....is it and old rod or a new rod?

I'm more up on graphite&glass than cane rods (do build some cane but not a bunch) but my buddy makes all his own cane blank by hand and is very knowledgeable about cane rods so if you can tell me if this is an old rod or a newer rod I'll ask my friend and see if he knows anything about them for you.

Hummm ... only thing I could come up with was a Craigs.list for a Sherwood rod ... in the Missoula area. Looks like a really old rod. Other than that ... I got nutin' !

I would suspect it's a trade rod Dean.

First I've ever heard of a Sherwood.

    Pictures would help, if possible.

Craigs list is the one I seen. The ad states that it is a vintage rod. There is a poor picture of it on the list. http://montana.craigslist.org/spo/1418759426.html

Dean if your thinking of buying that one on Craigslist for $75 my advise would be to pass on it man. Just from the small pic you posted it looks pretty darn rough from what I can tell from the pic. The mid section thats sticking out of the sock next to the grip is coming out at an angle so I would bet that its bowed like a sunofagun. I'd say to pass that one up and you can find something much better to redo/use.

    Dean,

The bag label is similar to some South Bends. Possibly Heddon, but I doubt
that. The reel seat is also similar to some South Bends.

Can't really be sure without some better pics.
