Default 517 Years ago on this date....

Christopher Columbus, discovered America, thinking it was the outer islands of Japan or China! He made four voyages across the briny ocean is search of Japan or China mainland. He died, still being convinced that he had found a short-cut to Asia!

So in commemoration of this historic event, I give you a song, titled "I had a Notion!", sung to the tune of "I'm looking over a four leaf clover"!

I had a notion, to cross an ocean, that I never crossed before.
Felt for certain Asia I'd reach, now something tells me, I hit the wrong beach.
Silks ain't sold here, there is no gold here, just famine and disease galore.
Why did I do it, I really blew it, when I reached the New World shore!

    Nice song Steve.

Perhaps you should add on that "I got beat getting here by the Mongolians, Polynesians and Vikings too.".

Happiness is wading boots that never have a chance to dry out.

Portugese? Columbus was Italian, and he was sailing under the Spanish flag.

    Still, lost and clueless.

Yes, it is true he was lost but he happened upon natives cooking meating over wood. Being an ancestor of George W, he misprounced the natives word and we got barbecue.

It made the trip worthwhile, even though it took a few years for it arrive in Memphis where it was perfected.
