Lightbulb Birthday suprise for my wife...

Birthday Surprise for my Wife, well she hasn't gotten it yet, its coming from the west coast in the mail. I ordered her a TFO casting for recovery 5wt. She hasn't fly fished yet. She has been to a fly festival a couple years ago along with me, Tuber, and Dotman. There she got to cast a fly rod with some instruction from someone who was giving free lessons. She said she really ennjoyed it and seemed to. Also there, a fly rod was won during a drawing by someone we knew, a 5wt TFO casting for recovery rod. Susan seemed to really like it alot. So I'll find out in a couple of days when it arrives in the mail. I'll have to wait and see...

Nice thought there Grubb. In my case, such a gift would raise an eyebrow.......or two.

I've tried to interest my wife in fly fishing with for the last six or seven years with no luck. She's concerned about hurting the fish. 8T

    Thumbs up

    Tim,
I'm sure Susan will love it. She sure admired that one at the show.

Hey Mark...As I recall, the rod is a deep purple blank with one of those pink "crossed ribbons" on it. It really IS a beautiful rod. Tim can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I'm correct.

I got one for my wife two years ago. She liked it enough that she has since refused all opportunities to upgrade. I hope your wife enjoys hers as much as Marguerite has.

Great idea grubb. I might try that, my anniversary is coming up. Of course Dana doesn't fly fish, but then I could borrow her new rod. what do you think? lol.

Mike yep it is a deep purple rod, you can only tell its purplel when its turned into the light (if my memory serves as well) with the pink ribbon on it. Yep she sure did like then very much, I'll have to wait and see. I ordered it on the day of her birhday Oct. 3, she got other goodies for her birthday along with dinner and all, and she doesn't know this is on the way. I hope she comes home and finds it sitting on the porch from the mail with her name on it. Her dad is having a big dinner this weekend for her, her twin and another sister, so hopefully it will arrive just b-4 then.
Thank you all for the well wishes, I'll show her this thread after the rod arrives . . .

PS: When I ordered the rod I had no idea that Oct. is Cancer aware month, all the football players on TV are whereing pink gloves and shoes and such and she noticed that so I kinda played that up keeping her on that thought...

    Well, we'll see . . .
