Never having tied one of these before. I looked up the Yellow Sally pattern online, including this website, and was dismayed at the number of different patterns called 'Yellow Sally, with the only common feature being that somewhere on the fly, the color yellow was used.
Not knowing which one was the original pattern, I opted to use the one listed on Orvis's website. After all, if Orvis says it's right...who am I to argue?
Here's what I came up with. It's on a #14 dry fly hook:

I looked at some other Yellow Sally patterns, and I decided to go with one of the neater looking ones for the swap. This one was on YouTube.
