Default Atempt at new shad flies

Been working with a new mateial called neer hair (new to me anyhow)... Soooo,,, heres my atempt at using it for tying some shad flies... I used a mustad stinger 2/0 hook, crystal flash, neer hair, a bit of tencil, mallard feathers, some #8 white silk thread and hollographic eyes...

Any opinions on how to make theese flies better or whatever ?

That should do the trick. Those are great looking flies.
Where you go is less important than how you take the steps.

    Ivan,
I really like the one using wood duck in the lower left!

Have you ever thought about using some large black mono eyes to simulate the black spot on shad? It was just a random idea I had the other day.

Very cool flies. Wonder what Pheasant tippets would look like on the cheeks? The tippets on a the Golden Pheasant are a metallic blue.

But what really got my attention is your drying tree. Thats its a way cool idea!

the materials are listed in the beginning of the post... heres a llink to the page i got the patern from...

    http://www.flyfishohio.com/Adventures_in_Fly_Tying.htm

Its the last video on the page... I just used a different material than what was used in the video because the material he uses has a habit of tangeling badly...
