Default Need fishing info on the White River...

I have just confirmed reservations at Rim Shoals in Arkansas to fish the White River system. It will take about 8 hours driving to get there and plan on leaving here on Oct. 4th and stay at Rim Shoals through Wednesday night and start home on Thursday. This will give me 3 full days of fishing. "Doublewide" on FAOL (Tom Roberts), Jack Hise and myself will be making the trip. I would appreciate any information on the Rim Shoals area for fly fishing and what fly patterns you think will be the best for that time period and any other information you feel we may need.

    Thanks in advance...
    Warren
Fly fishing and fly tying are two things that I do, and when I am doing them, they are the only 2 things I think about. They clear my mind.

    Warren,

You might want to email or call bamboo rodmaker Bob Nunley.

I'm sure he can answer your questions or at least steer you in the right direction.

When you can arrange your affairs to go fishing, forget all the signs, homilies, advice and folklore. JUST GO.

  4. Default White River

I'm going tomorrow morning, below Beaver Dam. Start with an olive bead head bugger. Next go to a blue & white midge about 18" delow a white foam indicator. After that you're on your own. Good luck!

I'm not even sure if this is the same river or the same area, but I was just on Jimmy Taylor's site yesterday looking for tungsten beads. He took over selling those when we lost one of our own Charlie (Parrothead).

Hopefully this will help you out: http://flyfisharkansas.com/
