Hi all. My wife and I picked up a recreational kayak for paddling around cape cod and the CT shore of long island sound (norwalk area). It is a 10' sit in kayak, so not the ideal fishing boat, but it was more for my wife to paddle around in.

Nevertheless, I still think I will be able to do a little salt water flyfishing out of the boat. Nothing adventurous - just taking the boat a few hundred feet off shore will greatly expand the amount of water I can fish!

A few quick Q's:

What is a good anchoring system?

What should I wear while fishing in late september/October? I might want to get out of the boat and wade some flats or island shores, so I was thinking waders/wader boots. But are waders/boots safe if you were to flip?

Thanks
