    Default Rod swap signup

OK, let's go ahead and get signed up here. Time for the 2009/2010 rod swap. We're going to do things a bit differently this time, but it shouldn't be too difficult.
Everyone is going to order their own parts using 1 of 2 ordering lists. All rods will be built on the same 8' 5/6 wt fiberglass 2 piece blank with a full wells grip, 2 foot wire snake guides, and a wire hook keeper. The only difference between the 2 sets is that one has a graphite seat with silver hardware, and the other uses a black aluminum seat with black hardware. The difference between the 2 is approximately $3. Your parts kit should be shipped to you for $43 or $46. (This doesn't include your finishes, glue or thread.) The only real differences you should see in the rods should be thread color and technique.
You need to order your parts and complete your rod by February 1. On February 1, I will send you the name of a fellow swapper to send your rod to.
Sign up here, and keep us informed with your progress. You have 5 months to do this, so be sure you don't forget about this project. If you have questions/concerns, be sure to post them here. We'll be happy to help out.
    Here is the list:

I'm in. Send the parts list and I'll probably just do a pickup the next time I'm down at Jann's.

I'll send you both a PM with the 2 ordering lists. Please let me know if you find any discrepancies. Thanks.
I have included 8 guides in each kit. If you want an extra, you can add one. Also, for the black kit, I included a size .400 winding check. That may need sized down 1 size to be sure it is safe. Or you can omit it if that is your taste. I'll try to get a measurement off of mine tonight or tomorrow to be sure.

**It wouldn't send it in the format I used, so here is a link to the list. http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/a...&pictureid=540

I just measured my blank. It looks like the .400 winding check will be very close to an exact fit.

Ask if you have questions. Just remember, you have 5 months, so go slow and take your time. And pack your thread wraps. And most importantly, HAVE FUN! You are one of us now...

    You are all in.
I just ordered my kit. I'm going with the A16/black hardware version. My last swap rod was built with black and silver wraps, but I'm going to be a bit bolder on this one. I've found some cobalt metallic thread at the local sewing store. I love the cobalt color, and the metallic version looks like it could be stunning. I have a second blank that I'm going to build for myself, and it will probably have the same color on it.
