After a dreadfully slow summer at least for me, my local water has started to produce with the spawners returning to the river. With the season mostly officicaly over with exception to a handful of waters where i can still fish for brown trout until Oct 7th, I grabbed my 6wt and headed down to my fav hole at dusk. In about an hour I had 4 hits, the first which was a hook up and after 4-5 head shakes he was on his way, the next two were bumps where I missed the hook set and the final one to hand. Not a huge trout by anymeans, but I would say in the top 10% size wise for this water and a differently my best to date. This is my first fall brown in three seasons of trying.

Sorry for the bad pic, nothing soft and wet to lay him on.
