I was going to ask if I could get in with a Deer Hair Frog, but I don't have the correct hooks. Can I do a Muddler Minnow, size 8? I've never tied any before. Here is my first one that I just tied (to make sure I could do it before I commited).

    Muddler Minnow

    Hook:Cabela's Model 40 sz. 8
    Thread: Black 6/0 Uni-Thread
    Tail: Barred Turkey Wing Feather
Body: Gold Based Prismatic Mylar Tinsel (left over from Christmas)
    Underwing: Grey Squirrel Tail
Wing: 2 Matched (sort of) Mottled Turkey Wing sections
Collar and Head: Stacked Natural Deer Body Hair, trimmed to shape

Would this be OK for the swap? I know I crowded the hook-eye on this one, but now I know the distance. I won't do it on the swap ones.

Here is my second attempt. I didn't crowd the eye, and I changed the head shape to make more noise in the water. This time, I used my electric Mustache Trimmer, instead of scissors. It was faster, and I had much more control, and it was much neater.

I know this is supposed to be a crippled sculpin imitation, but it looks to me like it would be a dynamite Hopper imitation as well. With all that deer hair, it almost has to float.

    David,
I'll hop in. How about a Tap's Bug. I'll tie this one white body & red head with a white tail and maybe a touch of flashabou. Will tie it on a #10 or 8.

Okay, it looks like a small swap, I will go in it. I am not sure what I will tie yet, but am leaning towards the fly I mentioned earlier.
