    Default Danvise Cam Lever Modification

Heres a slight modification i made for my vise... I hated the way the cam lever hung underneath the vise jaws & allways seemed to git in the way and spring open when it hits something using the rotary function... The modification put the cam lever up above the jaws out of the way so it caint hit anything, adds better ballance to the vise plus just flat out looks better... Here is some pictures that should be self explanatory on how to do it... Ya just need a saw or dremmel with a cutoff wheel, a drill and a screw...

    Before modification

Cut the stock lever through the line, drill hole and put togather like the 2nd lever

    After modification

    Hi Bugman,
Your modification looks neat and makes sense. I too have a DanVise and I really like it. The camber level has not been a problem for me at this point, but I like your idea. Thanks for the pics. Best wishes.

    Talking Danvise modification

A good trick, thanks for sharing. I find also that adding the exrension arm to the Danvise allows more room at thr rear of the hook, you can get them from BT's fly fishing, a sponsor here or pick one up on Ebay for $18-$20

Please attach more info about both modifications! I'm looking to get a new travel vice to use in the office at lunch and I'm very interested in these mods!
