Actually your suggest Jim gave me a idea. I have an old cutting board I used for cutting other materials on and I took a utility/carpet knife with the adjustable blade.

I put the hide on the board, fur down and tacked down the corners to keep it straight and tight on the board, then took the knife and slide the blade out so the tip of the blade was just sticking out, maybe about an 1/8", then cut a few thin strips with it .... and it actually worked .

Only a small amount of fur came off the strips after they were cut. So thanks for the suggestion, it helped allot.
