tinsel is not just for fly tying

I got some incandescent gold pearl tinsel for flytying. I am building a rod for my good friends wife for her birthday. Didn't quite know what to do on it cause I was bored with the usual stuff. Got a idea from one of the rods I saw on here someone had built and went with it. I wil say this tinsel is fragile but oh man does it look good. When it is done I will post pics here.

would this be the rod youre refering to ? this one i did the trim in metalic blue tensil...

I have ansered this several times but I must be doing something wrong. Although that is one very very nice rod I took the idea from one of bigdaddy's rods. should hve pics real soon

nice... i like the way the tinsel is in the x patern over the wraps...
