    A 12-month suspended prison sentence. That is not justice....he needed to spend at least a year in prison for this crime. IMHO

    sentences in the UK are generally far less severe than for a smiler crime here in the USA, its been a long time since I looked but I don't think there recidivism rate is much different than ours.

    Yeah, I don't think there's much of a recidivism rate for people who steal stuffed birds out of museums. However, this kid stole a national treasure that, from the accounts I read, is irreplaceable. He was either very lucky with the sentence or something else is at play.
    As for the people who bought the stuffed birds or skins he was able to sell, was it really necessary?

    I also read that this guy is a very accomplished tier. I think he knew what he was doing. Just my .02cents worth

    It looks to be just over 44% for the United States and over 70% for the United Kingdom!
