Sorry to tell you that the Las Vegas area is not suited to fishing. The tailwater below Boulder dam is not accessible until you get quite a ways down into Arizona and the fishing has declined to the point that it is not worth it. There is a fly shop in Las Vegas but local fishing is pretty much non-existant. There is also the BassPro flagship store that is worth a visit just to see it's 150,000 plus sq ft of stuff.

In the winter most people from Las Vegas go to California to fish. Either the Eastern Sierra where the high country is closed but a lot the Owens Valley is open. Another California destination from LV is the Kern River which has been fishing well and producing a lot of big fish.
