World Mourns the demise of "Benson the Carp!"

In Great Britain, Carp are highly esteemed as game fish, and are raised in special ponds where avid devotees come and try to catch them. Individual fish have names and reputations, statistics are kept on weight and how often they are caught. People plan vacations to visit murky artificial bodies of water that to have a go at catching and releasing these famous fish.

The London Times obit sadly announced 'Angling World in Mourning for Benson the Celebrity Carp.' At 64 pounds, she was felt to be the biggest carp in Great Britain, and already controversy is swirling as to the possible means of her demise. It is surmised that it may have been caused by tainted nuts fed to her by inconsiderate fans!

The first line of the London Times obit stated....

'She was, in her own way, one of the great celebrities of her age, a creature of such grace and physical perfection that admirers would come from hundreds of miles away just to catch a glimpse of her.'
