Ill have to get in here--I have tails with bone. Hides. I have cleaned and dried trash bags full of pheasant skins from hunting in the west. Road kill squirrel ,mallards ,geese, and hair mask. Name it and I think I have seen everthing.

The way to do it is flesh it clean, wash and dry only to remove dirt and blood. Air dry tails and hide in the garage during summer bugs, out doors in the winter. Never use salt to dry--it attracts moisture, only twenty mule team borax. One that I know air dries dozens of deer hides over the cloths line in the winter. Bring in what you intend to use and store the rest in a plastic tub in the garage or basement with moth crystals to prevent bugs. BILL
