Hey Paul,
Don't sweat it. It's all good bantering. One day we will pluck these guys and tye some fly's with the hackle.

I keep it real simple, I eat any that don't survive.
As I have said before, some fish spend the night in my live well with fresh water circulated through, then netted and back into the water the next morning.
Invariably so far they will hide under the back for a moment or two and dart off back to deeper waters. Real scientific, huh? I can only hope they survived.

Other times I have released fish and had them swim away, only to see a fish hawk pluck them from the water a few hundred yards back. These are fish released without holding them for a while, to overnight.
So the hapless fish gave a good fight, appeared to survive, but wound up as breakfast for a fish hawk. Well, didn't go to waste anyway.
This has happened twice in my experiance.

Yet, none of the fish held in the live well have died, to my knowledge, after releasing them the next day. I hope they are the wiser for the experiance.
